Celebrating Resurrection Sunday March 23, 2008

Over 2500 Athey Creekers came ready to stay warm! It was a wonderful day celebrating the resurrection of our Lord. Gathering together at Lewis & Clark for one giant service was great! We were blessed to have the opportunity to worship, spend time in the word, enjoy a great BBQ (1500 people served in a record time of 23 minutes!!) and later a concert by our much- loved local band, KUTLESS.

Athey Creekers Come Rain or Shine!

Sound Check for KUTLESS

The guys were busy making sure the sound was dialed in...tricky with the rain, but they did it!

Is Everybody Cozy?

Pastor Brett came out to check on all of us and make sure we were doing fine!!

Worship with KUTLESS!

Everyone loved being able to have a time of worship together...it was evident that KUTLESS came to lift up the One to whom all praise is due...even with chilly fingers! Thanks, guys!

A Moment To Pray...

Taking a moment to pray...to stop and consider what has been accomplished in the work done by Jesus for us.

Mankind is in a Fallen State...

With the sin of Adam and Eve, they ushered in the fallen state of humanity. We are in a sinful, fallen condition. This whole service is about God saying, "I will provide a way for humanity...The Way, The Truth and The Life in Jesus Christ". The non-believing world says that Christians are deluded. That man is basically good and there are just people who do bad things. But really the bible says that man is basically bad and that is why we have trouble in this world. But God intervened-died on the cross for the sins of the world, rose from the grave and forgives humanity of our sins. He gives us a future and a hope...to be saved...at peace...forever in eternity!

The Free Gift of Salvation...Provided by God Himself.

Our Kids Were Having Fun, Too!

Not too far away, under the tennis dome, were tons of our kids running around, playing, having fun, and hearing about the good news Jesus has given them. It was a great day for the little guys and gals!

Fun Times Under the Tennis Dome!

Whether it was Duck, Duck, Goose, or a round of prison ball...the kids all had a blast!

Time for Fellowship!

After being dismissed, about 1500 stayed to enjoy very amazingly tasty burgers and time together before the concert!

Post-Service Concert By KUTLESS!

In the midst of a hectic schedule, the guys from KUTLESS made time for us and had a concert after the BBQ! Everyone enjoyed hearing the various renditions of their popular songs played with an acoustic flair. Thanks, KUTLESS!
